The Aske is a bespoke and innovative facility for the treatment of people with Profound Multiple Complex Learning Disabilities and is the first private facility to offer this type of care in Ireland. The design comprises new build outpatient and inpatient facilities accommodating a range of spaces to support the medical and therapeutic staff in a manner that responds to the specific patient needs. The buildings are arranged in single and 2 storey blocks around landscaped courtyards which assists the therapeutic nature of the scheme and which compliments the historic setting. The scheme also includes the refurbishment and restoration of a Protected Structure for use as a post-Doctoral training facility specialising in research of treatments for people with Profound Multiple Complex Learning Disabilities.
